Anshin Ju Jitsu found its beginnings in the 1950's and at that time was known simply as the Preston Ju Jitsu and Karate club.
Shihan Ron Ramadge took over the reins in 1975. Shihan Ron Ramadge developed the style further and incorporated many new techniques learnt from Ju Jitsu exponents from both Australia and internationally.
Shihan Ron Ramadge also believed that other matial arts had much to offer so he also included many more techniques found in Karate, Judo and Boxing.
Shihan Ron Ramadge has also developted "Tan Bo" (club) techniques which are based on the unarmed defense techniques use in Anshin Ryu Ju Jitsu.
Shihan Ron Ramadge introduced the name Anshin Ryu Ju Jitsu to highlight the new direction taken. Since that time Anshin Ryu Ju Jitsu has developed into a very completed form of self defense that incorporates armed and unarmed techniques adapted to the times that we live in. Continued improvement and the development of new and innovative technique is of utmost importance to Shihan Ron Ramadge as he believes this is what will take Ju Jitsu into the future and preserve it for generations to come.
Shihan Ron is a member of DNBK Japan.
